  2. There are several stories mentioned in the sutra. One whole ang is all about stories, viz.gnata dharma katha.all stories have a profound meaning in depth if one understand correctly with links. One of them is in suyagadang sutra is of a conference of philosophers,of vedanta, vaisheshik, mimamsa, sankhya, ect. After having explained their philosophies, criticized each others, they asked nirgranth to explain his.As there was no electricity during those times ,the light was produced by burning coals.Nirgranth asked each of them to hold the burning coals in their respective palms without resorting to jugglery, tricks,or ashtaang vidhya. All of them refused to do so,they were asked the reason for refusal, they said it will burn their hands,so what if it burns?the answer was it will cause pain!So my philosophy is not to cause pain to any living beings,AHIMSA PARAMO DHARMA!

  6. Samayik: the etymological meaning coming from the word samay(absolute time), refer to earlier comments. Samayik in short is a state of being in equanimity in the general(vyavahar) sense. In absolute sense it means cessation of activity of mind(including thought), speech and body, even if it is of a short duration. Note it is practical if one understands, comprehends, and applies it. For that one has to know the meanings of the sixth lesson of samayik sutra in the right perspective(not traditional). Also one should inquire can one be in a state of samayik without the dhosh(defects) of mind, speech and body as pointed out. It becomes impractical when one does not understand the meaning of the words in the sutra. Continued....

  7. It was this samayik which bhagawan mahavir told as invaluable of punya shravak even if it is for a short duration(antar muhartha). In uttaradhyan sutra 29th chapter the question is asked 'what does a jeev benefit from samayik?' The answer is very clear. Results in (perfect) ATTENTION(savajja) of mind speech and body(jog) and remains(virahi) in a state of knowing or awareness(jaanaayi). Now how to be in this state of awareness, can be possible only if one comprehends the meaning of words of sutra in the right perspective. If one understands, comprehends, applies, it will result in nirvikalp avasta(state of being) and can be practically demonstrated. More in next....
